Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment, reports to the Materials Supervisor
Essential Functions:
- Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations
- Pulls and assembles orders may use overhead cranes, forklifts, or other type material moving devices
- Tags material for proper identification
- Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers
- May occasionally drive motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups
- Completes work order paperwork/documentation
- Stocks, restocks, verifies, and stages material
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Job Requirements:
- Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions, tickets, safety and policies manuals)
- Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems
- Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
- Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
- Previous experience in related field such as shipbuilding, construction, or general warehousing helpful
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s License
- Overhead crane certification
- Forklift certification

Quality Program Requirements:
Employee will receive quality orientation training upon hiring. For ISO-certified locations, employee is required to attend annual ISO-9001 job specific site training.
Physical Requirements:
In a typical workday, employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, shoving, lifting, driving (yard truck or forklift), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking. Must be capable of lifting wt. up to forty (40) lbs. with or without lifting devices
Working Conditions:
Employee will work in an open warehouse the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes and metallic particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and safety boots. The Company furnishes initial hard hat, gloves and safety glasses. The employee furnishes safety boots at own expense.
